Since I start work later today, thought I'd visit the beach and enjoy some down time before it gets too hot.

It's sunny with a nice cool breeze off the Atlantic ocean. The waves are slowly losing their chop and I find myself becoming more and more relaxed in my beach chair.

I've already written in my journal and think I'll close my eyes for a bit while enjoying the sound of the waves and my MP3s on my Storm. Maybe I'll do a little reading and some more writing in a bit.

This is a pretty good day for me to start the day...and the week.

Spring Break is still going strong here in South Beach and the beach is filled with college students. My usual spot for relaxing is completely overrun so right now I'm forced to spread my blanket in a location where I can't even see the water. It's getting late though so people are starting to leave...slowly.

Tomorrow is the Sony Ericsson Women's Tennis Final. I'll be there to watch Venus Williams vs. Kim Clijsters...really looking forward to that. There's also an exhibition after the women's final with some of the top players to benefit Haiti. Tickets for the exhibition are $25.

It's sunny but a little cool this morning in South Beach. Walking through the streets, most people are wearing long shirts, pants, sweaters etc. Right now the temperature is right around 60 degrees but it should be up to about 70 in a few hours.

It does feel a little warmer at the beach. I feel very comfortable in shorts and a tshirt. People exercising and dogs being walked seem to be enjoying the lower temperatures.

One day after dark skies, thunderstorms and even a Tornado in Miami and South Beach once again perfect.

After a morning of working out at the gym and running some errands, I have very little time to enjoy the sun and the beauty at the beach before getting back for work but I had to get some time in today.

While crossing over to the beach I noticed a bunch of photographers taking pics of someone. Not knowing who the person being photographed was, I thought it was more interesting to take a pic of the photographers.

Just a couple more mins before I have to go...

It's been raining on and off (mostly on) since about 2AM this morning in South Florida.

While South Beach is mostly overcast and wet, other areas are experiencing power outages, damage to homes and cars from wind and falling trees. There's also a report of a tornado touching down in Dade.

Well, it looks like waiting till the last minute to get tickets to one of the biggest tennis tournaments isn't the best idea. I checked the web then called the Sony Ericsson Open last night for tickets for today but they were sold out except for Grounds Passes.

I decided not to go for a Grounds Pass but fortunately I was able to get tickets for the Women's Final and Men's Doubles Finals for next Saturday. I'm looking forward to that.

IMG00009-20100324-1350.jpgSince I got to South Beach I've been hoping to get to the beach during the work day so I can increase my chances to relax. When I was working in Manhattan, most days I would leave the office for a few minutes to go grab a sandwich, come back to my desk and work while eating. This left virtually no time to just relax and "be" and resulted in ever increasing stress. Now, with a flexible work schedule and close proximity to the beach, I can change that forever.

I'm sitting on the beach but only have a couple minutes before I have to be at the gym for my boxing class. I haven't been going regularly since signing up a couple months ago but I'm slowly getting into a regular routine. I just met and chatted briefly with a Chinese guy. He is from China, currently lives in Los Angeles but loves South Beach. He was here about a month ago and expects to return to SoBe in about a month for his vacation. Out of time now, need to get to the gym.

I guess my question about the Spring Breakers has been answered. Starting right about 11 am, they seemed to start coming out of the woodwork, or I guess the sand in this case. It's such a beautiful day (sunny, 77 degrees) that I wish I could lay here relaxing, studying and writing all day. Unfortunately, I have to leave in a few minutes to get to work.

Had a great boxing workout at the gym and soaking up some sun at my favorite spot. The Spring Break crowd is virtually missing. I wonder if they've returned to school or if it's too early for them.
