Since I start work later today, thought I'd visit the beach and enjoy some down time before it gets too hot.

It's sunny with a nice cool breeze off the Atlantic ocean. The waves are slowly losing their chop and I find myself becoming more and more relaxed in my beach chair.

I've already written in my journal and think I'll close my eyes for a bit while enjoying the sound of the waves and my MP3s on my Storm. Maybe I'll do a little reading and some more writing in a bit.

This is a pretty good day for me to start the day...and the week.

Preparations began early this morning for the 2010 edition of the Nautica South Beach Triathlon. Preparations can be seen in at least 2 locations...in Lumus Park between 6th and 7th Streets off Ocean Drive and also on the beach where they've begun roping off sections for the event. The 2010 Nautica South Beach Triathlon will take place on Sunday April 11. SitorDance.com will be live bloging the event.

It's a beautiful morning here in South Beach and a great start to the week. Temperatures this week will be between 79 - 85 degrees (highs). Rain is forecasted for Friday.

This is a great time of the day to be on the beach. The waves are nice and calming, the sun is still hiding partially behind some clouds, a nice cool breeze is swirling and there are still more birds than people around.

Don't get me wrong, large crowds bring a special beauty to the beach but the quiet and peacefulness of these earlier hours make this a great time to relax, meditate, reflect and think about the future.

After a long service game, Venus lost her serve...Kim is now serving up 2 games to 1 in the first set. Looks like Venus may be about to break back...no. Kim now leads 3 games to 1.

Time has been called and the play is underway...Venus is down love/30...now 15/30.

Venus has taken the first game.

We just had a very beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner by a local Miami artist
and it was WOW! At the end she hit the high note and held it for the longest time. The jets then passed overhead and with the combination of the high note and the jets...it felt like electricity was passing through my body. Awesome!

It's finally here, the Sony Ericsson Tennis Open Women's Final with Venus Williams and Kim Clijsters...two of my favorite players. This is my first live tennis match in last 6 years or so when my yearly visits to the US Open in Flushing New York ended. On the schedule for today are: * Womems's Final * Men's Doubles Finals * Special Exhibition to benefit Chile...not Haiti - $25 and scheduled to begin at 5PM. Right now we're waiting for a special presentation and for the women to come out. The audience is streaming in slowly.

Spring Break is still going strong here in South Beach and the beach is filled with college students. My usual spot for relaxing is completely overrun so right now I'm forced to spread my blanket in a location where I can't even see the water. It's getting late though so people are starting to leave...slowly.

Tomorrow is the Sony Ericsson Women's Tennis Final. I'll be there to watch Venus Williams vs. Kim Clijsters...really looking forward to that. There's also an exhibition after the women's final with some of the top players to benefit Haiti. Tickets for the exhibition are $25.

Today is Census Day 2010. So what is Census Day exactly? It's apparently an unofficial mail-by date. The US Department of Commerce Economics and Statistics Administration hopes that everyone who hasn't already done so will return their completed Census forms today. They estimate that 52% of households have already returned the forms so if like me you're one of the 48% slow returners, the Census Bureau is waiting.

It's sunny but a little cool this morning in South Beach. Walking through the streets, most people are wearing long shirts, pants, sweaters etc. Right now the temperature is right around 60 degrees but it should be up to about 70 in a few hours.

It does feel a little warmer at the beach. I feel very comfortable in shorts and a tshirt. People exercising and dogs being walked seem to be enjoying the lower temperatures.
